About Us

Wellington Chamber Music is an registered charitable trust dedicated to presenting concerts by the best of New Zealand’s established and emerging chamber musicians.

Established in 1945, the Society presents Sunday Concerts, an annual subscription series of six to eight concerts in the Ilott Theatre, Wellington Town Hall.

As well as supporting New Zealand musicians through its Sunday Concerts series Wellington Chamber Music:

  • Supports New Zealand composers of chamber music by commissioning new works and programming New Zealand composed works;
  • Provides opportunities, with the support of Radio New Zealand Concert, for the recording and broadcast of many of its Sunday Concerts;
  • Assists Chamber Music New Zealand with Chamber Music Competition in the Wellington region.

The Wellington Chamber Music Trust is approved for charitable tax exemption. Donations made to the Trust qualify for a tax rebate, up to the maximum allowed by Inland Revenue.

Wellington Chamber Music Trustees and Volunteers

All of the activities of the Wellington Chamber Music are arranged by its trustees and a group of volunteers.

Current Trustees are:

Current Volunteers are:
Gillian Bibby, Tui Clark, Berys Cuncannon and Lindis Taylor.
