Te Kōkī Trio (piano trio)

Te Kōkī Trio (piano trio)

Martin Riseley (violin), Inbal Megiddo (cello) and Jian Liu (piano) are all senior faculty in classical performance at the New Zealand School of Music. They individually have extensive careers as professional musicians both nationally and internationally. As a trio, they regularly perform throughout New Zealand, as well as in Australia, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Their last concert in the Sunday Concerts was highly praised: “a mighty concert experience – here were three musicians bent upon drawing all that they could out of the music and of themselves, resulting in performances of great excitement and intensity” (Middle-C).

Brahms and Shostakovich are well known. Dorman is a contemporary Israeli-born composer living in America, who has been awarded many prizes, including being the youngest winner of the Israel PM’s Award for composers. His works are regularly performed by leading orchestras and chamber musicians. Many of his works are available on CD.
