Playing an eclectic mix of music for string quartet, the Jade String Quartet have won a special place in NZ’s music scene.
Since their inception in 2003, the Jade Quartet have commissioned and premiered many NZ works by the likes of David Hamilton and Chris Adams, both of whom are on today’s programme with Haydn and. Schubert. Jade has a CD of New Zealand works on the RATTLE label and two national tours in 2007 and 2009 as well as a concert series over six years at the Pah Homestead and other venues.
For this concert the performers are violinists Miranda Adams and Charmian Keay (replacing William Hanfling for this concert), violist Robert Ashworth and cellist James Yoo (replacing Edith Salzmann for this concert).
